Peperomia plant

Local name: Acorn peperomia (Hawaii); Peperomia novae-ze1andiae co1enso (New Zealand). Synonym: Among others Peperomia affinis Domin. 1910; baturiteana C.DC. Peperomia (1917); Peperomia cartagoana Trel. (1929); Peperomia cryptotricha Trel. (1945).  The origin and spread of geography: Peperomia tetraphylla Hook. & Arn. Pu1au native of Norfolk, New Se1andia, Caribbean, Hawaii, tropical forest habitat in America.  Spreading into New Se1andia, Australia and some kepu1auan Pacific, Africa, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Fi1ipina, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Central and South America. Utilization: Peperomia can be used as an ornamental plant pots da1am room is displayed as a plant terrarium, or hanging plants.  


Production and trade
The production was done by breeding and traded on the New Se1andia.  Matter content and physical properties of the plant: In general, plants contain compounds prenylated family Piperaeeae quinines. Descriptions: Plants succulent, annual, grow erect or creeping stems much branched, 

Growth and development
Growth slow Peperomia. Treatment re1atif easily as an ornamental plant in da1am room. Plants need a moist medium, will fall when the water shortage.
Ecology: Prefers warm conditions, the light is half shaded, living in a wet tropical forest evergreen, epiphytic on trees and on wet rocks along the river at an altitude of 900-3100 m above sea level.


Planting.
Cuttings were taken from the parent plant. Shoots that have rooted cuttings with 2-4 leaves of 2 plants grown in pots the size of 7.5 cm and 3-4 plants in pots 10 cm. Rooting takes approximately 4-6 weeks. Immediately after planting rooted many moved to the pot. The medium used for growth need to be well drained and free of disease, such as peat-lite mix with perlite, styrofoam, or humus.
 
Care and maintenance

Avoid direct sunlight, the media remain moist, warm growing conditions. Stems and leaves tend to rot if too much water and the plants should be watered from below to avoid the stems and leaves of wet plants.

Pests and disease
common disease is Pythium spp. and Phytophthora spp. causing root and stem rot. Use media and disease-free pot or that have been sterilized. The main pest is the caterpillar leaves, fungus gnats, root mealybugs, mites, scales, and thrips
