preview of what's coming

So I've definitely been slacking on keeping up on the blogging.  But I have three weddings in the next three weeks, so I promise new pictures and posts will be forthcoming.  I'm really excited for these October weddings - the brides are all fun to work with, and have really interesting and unique color pallets and themes.  So here are some pictures to show the inspiration and ideas behind these upcoming weddings:

October Wedding 1:  I'm excited for this wedding because it's giving me an opportunity to do something I don't normally get to do: use silk flowers!  The wedding isn't here in Utah, and the wedding and reception are several days apart, so they decided silk would be the best option for them.  This is a good idea for planning brides to keep in mind if you are having multiple receptions or not having the wedding and reception on the same day.

The colors for the wedding are dark violet, mustard yellow, pale green, and pewter, with a vintage fall look.

October Wedding 2:

This wedding is based around vibrant jewel tones - purple, turquoise, and green.  It will beautiful and bright!

October Wedding 3:

The colors for this wedding are yellow and navy blue.  We're going for a monochromatic but multi-textured look with the flowers.  This bride had two requirements for her flowers: no roses, and and no sunflowers!  It'll be fun to do a fall yellow wedding without sunflowers.

So with all these weddings coming up in the next few weeks, be expecting lots of pictures!

Sam's Wedding Flowers, Lilacs & Purples

For her autumn wedding Sam chose a gorgeous blend of purples, lilacs and ivory. Very popular in 2010 and the colour trend is clearly going to continue into 2011. Luckily she also chose one of the most gorgeous autumn days for her wedding at Brasserie 68 in Fareham. Here are some of the photos we took of Sam's flowers.

The groom's buttonhole of rose, bouvardia and limonium. All flowers featured in Sam's wedding bouquet.

Sam's bouquet of roses, bouvardia, purple trachelium and lavender limonium.

Buttonholes of rose and limonium for the men.

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of avalanche roses with lilac limonium.

Bridesmaids bouquets and buttonhole for the dad boxed and ready.

The buttonholes and mum's corsage for the groom's party, all ready and waiting

The ceremony table dresed with a long and low arrangement of ivory Avalanche roses, the gorgeous dusky lilac rose, Memory Lane, freesias and limonium with mixed foliages in vintage tones. This was moved to the top table for the wedding reception.

We dressed the tables with these designs in the popular goldfish bowl type vases. The vases are filled with fresh petals, roses and freesias with central chunky candle. The freesia is an unusual double one aptly named "Honeymoon" Memory Lane rose petals decorate the base.
Many thanks Sam for choosing us to design and create your wedding flowers for you. We hope you had a fabulous day and very many congratulations on your marriage.

Desk Design

This design was created yesterday for a lovely gentleman who wanted to spoil his secretary, an autumnal design perfect for an office desk including Amaryllis, Tulips and Stephanotis foliage.
