As we were delivering at the crack of dawn, we weren't able to photograph any of the food so instead we plumped for photographing the menus, I hope you'll enjoy, click on the images for a closer look...

When a restaurant takes this much trouble with the flowers you can guarantee the food's going to be superb, we've enjoyed many meals at Ribby courtesy of the Banqueting Department which have been completely yummy, so Jason & I have booked a table for next week, and I can't wait to enjoy their hospitality in the restaurant!

Patriotic Posies

Are you throwing a bash for the 4th? Don't forget the flowers! You can go well beyond the usual mason jar of white daisies and really show some creativity this year. Here are some fun ideas for you-and I guarantee that flowers will make your event more special!

Using permanent botanicals is an option. This cute red lantern makes an unexpected container.

And adding flags to this hanging basket arrangement adds a patriotic touch without being over the top.

This pinwheel centerpiece is gorgeous. The red Geranium and white Hydrangea are stunning together, and the red striped container ties it all together. What fun!

A wreath is appropriate anywhere. This dried wreath incorporates varying shades of blue, and with the addition of herbs, is fragrant, too!

3 colors of Hydrangea, a triple-tier basket, a bit of moss, and voila! A stunning centerpiece in just a few minutes!

I love how this gardener has incorporated a weathered chair into this still life of Iris, Poppies and Peonies, all blooming at the same time.

And how's this for a patriotic yard? Love it!

The Perfectly Purple Wedding Day of Nicola & Michael McVeigh at The Great Hall at Mains

Firstly "The Big Reveal", the best thing about this bit for me is that when I open up the tissue the most wonderful fragrance is released in to the room, particularly when the bouquets include such a plethora of fragrant blooms, Sweet Peas, Peonies and David Austin Roses to name but three...

This was such a magical day, we caught up with the lovely Nicola and her gorgeous Bridesmaids; Vicky, Lyndsey & Tamsin at the Bride & Groom's gorgeous apartment at Admiral Point, we did the all essential and much looked forward to Bouquet holding lesson with the girls....
I introduced Nicola to all of the exquisite flowers, I'd used some "Love in the Mist", Lissianthus, Purple, Pink & White Sweet Peas, Pink & White Peonies, Mimi Eden, Aqua and David Austin's Patience Roses all of which were brought to life by the zingy lime coloured Alchemilla Mollis. The Sweet peas toned with the deep purple of the Bridesmaids dresses perfectly

I also included a gentle "jshush" of fragrant Jasmine to simper down the front of the bouquet
The Bridesmaid's posies were smaller versions of the wedding bouquet
Nicola looked so beautiful

And The Great Hall at Mains looked so beautiful too, this really is a totally fabulous setting for a civil ceremony, it has all of the majesty and drama of a church with the absolute convenience of being all in the same place as the reception, all in all a completely fabulous venue!

The Registrars table design created around a cluster of two church candles with a profusion of English Summer flowers including Campanulas, Alliums, Monkshood, Antirhinnums, Stocks, Peonies, Roses, "Love in the Mist", Agapanthus, Hydrangeas, Roses, Peonies and Sweet Peas.
The tall Pedestal vases were quite honestly breathtaking with huge stems of statuesque Delphiniums towering over the design and then Hydrangeas, Alliums, Peonies & Antirhinnums clustered around the top of the vase.
The tall pedestal vases framed the ceremony space perfectly
Mike, Nicola's groom looking extremely handsome, we'd made him an Avalanche and Lissianthus Boutonniere complete with a flourish of Champagne Grass
The exquisite Bridesmaids dressed in purple with Pink & Purple bouquets

Nicola and her lovely Brother arrived

Michael was giving Nicola away, we'd made him an Aqua Rose Boutonniere
Nicola looked completely stunning
Lizzie from The Great Hall at Mains was on hand to "fluff" the brides train just before she headed up the aisle

The car was so lovely and it was from "Whirlwind Executive Travel"
Huge Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs McVeigh
(You may notice on the left of this shot a touch of a camera man, this belongs to ABC Video and unlike many other video companies, I've had a job to find a picture with him in it, so descreet is their service)
Lizzie was there t o hand the happy couple their glasses of Champagne

How completely gorgeous! My favourite image of the wedding boquet in Purple, Pinks and Ivory
Lizzie & Mel form TGHM, there is a fabulous team at TGHm and they work together so beautifully to achieve fabulous events and weddings
Josh on the bar and atall Martini Vase of Alliums, Campanula Glomerata & Hydrangeas

The Brides Sister wore a corsage of Crystal Blush Calla Lily & Patience Rose, the Ushers all wore Aqua Roses with Chamapgne Grass

The Grooms mum had her Handbag dressed to co-ordinate with her floral dress, we included double Lissianthus, Single "Sylvia" Protea petals, Captain Rosette Calla Lily and that rather strange Rose "Exciting" the one where the buds come out of the middle of the rose head.

Mike is a Policeman & Nicola Telephanist at Bonny Street Police Station their cake toppers were absolutely brilliant and were a perfect facsimile, the cake itself was from the "Little House of Cup Cakes" and no doubt tasted delicious

The table centrepieces were designed on tall black Martini Glasses

The Deep Purple ties and Chair covers were by my all time favourite linen hire company "Creative Cover Hire"
Many Thanks to Nicola & Mike for choosing Flower Design and we wish them every happiness in their new life together!
