Gladiolus Flower Nurseries

Seeds can be derived from the generative breeding, vegetative, and tissue culture. Generally, seedlings derived from vegetative and tissue culture more quickly learned the results from the nursery with generative way. As for ways of gladiolus nursery will be described this follows:

Seed Requirements

Seeds of good seed Earring produce flowers minimum diameter 2.5 cm, except for the cultivar Golden Boy sufficient diameter of 1 cm. Seedlings should be selected healthy, non-disabled. A good vegetative seedlings that have the power sprouts more than 90%. Generative seeds must come from the parent with both growth and age.

Seed Preparation

Gladiolus generative propagation by seed, used to obtain cultivars just not for the purpose of seed production. Seeds obtained by pollinating assisted human-made.

Vegetative propagation is done using gladiolus bulbs (child Earring), seed split (Earring sides), tissue culture or cell suspension. Tuber and seedling tubers taken from plants that have been harvested. Tissue culture techniques is one alternative way to overcome the constraints in conventional propagation. Seeds required for 1 hectares of land is approximately 213,063 units.

Mother plant and the Earring of children that will be used as seeds can not be grown when grown despite the growing environment is suitable and optimal, because require a period of dormancy. During the period of dormancy and kids Earring Earring which has been dry stored in a homage to both air and avoid direct sunlight. Mother plant which has been separated from the stems stored for several days in order to grow properly.
In a previous article also described the gladiolus flower and its cultivation, for more details can be found on this blog.
