To support this need for cucumber, cultivation guidelines is needed to obtain maximum results. The following will explain the stages of Japanese cucumber cultivation.

Growing Media Preparation

The treated soil mixed with manure or compost as much as 10-20 kilograms / hectare. After that, made the beds with a width of 100 centimeters wide and 20-30 centimeters of water channels. Bed length depending on the circumstances of the season. If the rainy season, beds made higher in order to better drainage and aeration, which is 30-40 centimeters. Meanwhile, if the dry season, the bed size is only 20-25 inches.
Growing Conditions

Terms of growing and cultivation of cucumbers Gherkin as Japanese cucumber cultivation. Which differ only optimal spacing, harvesting, and the size of the harvested fruit. Gherkin cucumber plantings within the optimum planting 60 x 50 centimeters. Cucumbers can be harvested about 42 days with a fruit size of about 6-9 centimeters or buyer upon request.

Selection of Seed and Nursery
Before seeds are planted, nursery media should be prepared beforehand. Nursery media was a mixture of soil and manure with a ratio of 7:3. As the nursery media can be used transparent plastic bag. Before use, media seedlings were first sterilized with a fungicide. Although seeds can be planted directly, but to reduce the failure, the seeds should be treated as follows.
1. Seeds soaked for 15 minutes. The seeds that float should be discarded.2. Seeds which remain submerged again soaked for 24 hours.3. Furthermore, the seed was transferred into the folds of a wet towel for 12 hours until going to root out.4. After going to root out, the seeds can be planted directly in a place that has been prepared.
In the rainy season, the seedbed should be a transparent plastic roof. If cucumbers planted during the dry season, beds can be made in the open. However, in the first few days, beds should be covered with dead leaves. Keep the sun's rays can get approximately 35%. Seedbed soil watered every 1-2 days. If the puck leaves open, the seeds are sprayed with fungicides. The dose used half of the recommended dosage.

Cultivation
Planting seeds can be done if the seedlings have 10-14 days old or after having two leaves. Investment depends on the altitude.

Maintenance
It is relatively easy plant maintenance, watering only when soil water is less rain water clan. In the first week, the plants watered every 1-2 days. And, next week, watering every 4-6 days. Fertilization aftershocks given interval between 10-14 days. Gift made by buried around the plant as far as approximately 7 cm from the plant.
To set the moisture and suppress weed growth, the plants were given in the form of grass clippings or mulch hay. Furthermore, each plant was given a lanjaran and every lanjaran associated with the smaller parts of the bamboo. Lanjaran can also be replaced with a net installation easier. Plants that have branching, flowering, and fruit should be cut. Branch on the first leaf to the fifth or seventh discarded. The branches that grow and then discarded after 2-3 branches out, as are the twigs.
After the height of 150 centimeters, tops cut off so that the main trunk at a height of 180 centimeters expected growth has stopped rising. Plants that are too dense leaf growth can be thinned to a spacing. A week after planting, pesticide spraying is done to prevent pests and diseases. At the start of spraying, half of the recommended dosage. Spraying is done once a week. If it rains, the spraying is repeated.
