Azalea is a type of flowering plants from the Ericaceae family and genus Rhododendron that grow in temperate regions. Azalea grows in most of East Asia and North America. The flowers develop in early summer in June and shed their leaves in autumn, especially on the American species. Asia Azalea species have green leaves throughout the year.

Azalea was developed as a popular ornamental plant. In the wild habitat, it grows in forests and swampy areas. Flower color varies from red, yellow, white, pink, and purple.
