Plant of Nepenthes

 

 

 

 

Nepenthes is the only genus in the family Nepenthaceae. This plant is an annual plant life creeping, creeping, or shaped bushes. This plant is classified dikotiledon plant, which has two leaves institutions. The characteristics that exist in this family is its ability to prey on animals, particularly insects, which are used as nutrients for growth, to form pockets in the tip leaves. Many who thought the bag is a flower. When in fact it is a leaf bag that changed into a tool for plants to obtain nutrisis needed. Typically, each type of nepenthes has at least two forms of bags, namely bags down, and bag up. Shape the bag is named based on the location of the bag at the plant. To distinguish between species of nepenthes, color and pattern bags are generally not used. Nepenthes species is usually based on differences in the form of bags, leaves, stems and flowers. Nepenthes plants reside in two, where each plant has only male flowers or female flowers only. Flowers

Most terrestrial plants live in soil nepenthes sand, peat, limestone, rocks, twigs and rotting leaves, and soil / volcanic rocks. But there is also attached to the tree grows large as epiphytic plants, and other terrestrial growing on peat soils, sandy, chalky, crack rocks, leaf litter, or soil of the mountain. The similarity of the growth of all species of nepenthes is that they both grow in damp areas with high rainfall.
