This wedding was a long time coming, we've known the lovely Phil for many, many years our children went to the same school (They are all at University now!) and as a consequence we met up at various school events, it really was an absolute joy to be introduced to the love of his life the utterly gorgeous & vivacious Jackie and even more of a thrill to be asked to create their wedding flowers for them.
Jackie & I have had the very best of times planning the designs for the bouquets and all of the flowers for this very special day, we've laughed and cried (I'm far too emotional!!) we got a little carried away and then became very sensible, then we got excited again, it's been a heck of a journey I can tell you.
~
The presentation of the bridal bouquets is the pinnacle of all the planning, it's the moment when I know we've got it right!!!!
The very serious (ha ha) business of the FD Events wedding bouquet holding lesson, I'm doing the lesson here & Jason's taking the pics, just look at the concentration on all those faces, even if they didn't listen to me they all did the most superb job!!!! (I'll leave it to the big guy next time!)
Jackie's beautiful wedding bouquet of fresh fragrant Lily of the Valley, David Austin's sweet scented Patience Roses, Memory Lane Roses, Black Viburnum Berries, Poppy Seed Heads, Thistles, Albiflora Bruneii and lots more loveliness besides.
Jackie's Mum's exquisite epaulette corsage of rolled Rose Petals, tiny single Sweet Williams, Champagne Grass and Phalaenopsis Orchids
The completely fabulous Great Hall at Mains was the venue for the wedding ceremony, Jason was busy putting the finishing touches to the "aisle"a sprinkling of fragrant Rose Petals and lighting the hurricane lamps in anticipation of the arrival of the Groom's party!
We arranged giant Martini Glasses filled with a glorious collection of sumptuous fresh flowers to frame the ceremony space.
The bleached Mitsumata branches dominated the designs creating space, height and individuality to each martini glass
There really is nowhere that compares to this spectacular wedding ceremony space, it's just so majestic and more than a little bit "Church Like"which helps to make it worthy of the promises being made!
The chairs lining the aisle were dressed with posies of fragrant Roses, Freesia, Astilbe, Astrantia, Champagne Grass and Aralias
The candlelit Hurricane lamps lined with fresh Rose Petals were the perfect partner for the chair dressings, the heat from the candles lifting the scent of the rose petals to heady heights!
The beautifully detailed chair covers and ceiling drapes were designed by the lovely Dawn from Creative Cover Hire
The main Registrars table was draped with a luscious garland of herbs, Roses, Hydrangeas, Thistles, Astrantia, Phlox, Alchemilla Mollis, Thalaspi, Champagne Grass, Wax Flower Blossom, Freesia, Viburnum and Myrtle Berry and armfuls of French Ruscus to trail over the edges of the table.
On the smaller Registrars table, this is the one where the all important Registrar actually witnesses and records the marriage, I like to leave plenty of space for the Register, we did two placements of smaller Martini glasses filled with delicate posies of Love in the Mist, Memory Lane & Sweet Evelyn Roses, Wax Flower Blossom and Delphinium, Astilbe & Hydrangea.
The Chair Dressings really did look elegant and they smelled delicious too
