As many of you will know, I have almost as big a passion for food as I do for flowers, and that my absolute favorite place to indulge this is the gorgeous Twelve in Thornton where Paul the Head Chef works utter magic and Caroline maneuvers with dynamic charisma. Imagine Caroline calling with the opportunity to merge my two most excitable pleasures, in one of Twelve’s famous events, the exciting chance to join forces with them. Christmas Cookery & Flower Design Demonstration Luncheon at Twelve Restaurant on 24^th November 2010

So the concept goes like this: We are teaming together to give you the perfect ingredients for the most enchanted, homely Christmas. In pursuit of the most picturesque Christmas scene there will be tips and demonstrations in Festive Flower Design Creations, a scrumptious Twelve Christmas Feast, an immaculately laid table and delicious wines and cocktails to compliment . . .

We will help make the magical Christmas pictured in your minds-eye come true.

So this is the plan..

9:15-9:30 Arrival, Coffee & Homemade Christmas Biscuits

9:45-10:45 Christmas Dinner Cookery Demonstration and Tips from Paul & the Twelve Chefs in the Twelve Kitchen (I do like a good nosey behind the scenes!)

You've got to admit ladies these Chefs are pretty hot!10:50-11-50 Flower Design Demonstration of “Welcome Ring” for your front door, Table Centre Piece, Napkin Dressings & Table Favours with Jane & Jason and The Flower Design Team

 

12:00-13:00 Christmas Cocktails, Serving the perfect wines and laying the most immaculate Christmas table with Caroline & the very gorgeous Twelve Bar team

13:30 -15:00 A very special Twelve Christmas Luncheon will be served. During which the Super Talented "Daniel Sings" will be here to entertain us with some fabulous Christmas tunes

All of the floral designs will be raffled with proceeds to Trinity Hospice

Christmas Door Wreath Workshops

Flower Design Christmas Door Wreath Making Workshops & Lunches in Association with Jonny Draper Photography

Sunday 5th December at The Clifton Arms Tickets £25.00 inclusive of Demonstration & tuition, welcome drink, canapes, lunch & afternoon tea

Sunday 12th December at Browsholme Hall catered by With a Twist Tickets £30.00 inclusive of Demonstration & tuition, welcome drink, canapes, lunch & afternoon tea

The Door Wreaths will be charged for on the day dependent upon size Small £40.00- £50.00 Medium £50.00-£60.00 Large £60.00-£85.00 extra Large £85.00

The workshops will be great fun and they're dead easy too, a bit like painting by numbers, I put in the outline of foliage then everyone follows suit, then I put in the middle bit and everyone does the same and so on and so on until we have lots of beautifully completed totally scrummy door wreaths. All of the materials and tools will be provided.

Itinerary

10:00 am Arrival drink and breakfast canapes will be served, health and safety talk re-safe use of scissors etc

10:30 am Christmas Wreath Workshop commences with Jane Jason and the Flower Design Team. Everyone start to make their own wreaths.

12:00 Noon Traditional Sunday Lunch is served

1:00pm Continue to make until completion your own Christmas Wreaths and an opportunity to create your own Fresh Garlands for fireplaces & Staircases

3:00pm Afternoon Tea will be served

4:00pm Jonny Draper will photograph each person with their completed design

Afternoon Tea Demonstration at Lytham Hall

This was a superb event booked in it's entirety by the lovely ladies of "Arnold School Ladies Luncheon Club" many, many months ago.

At the time of booking none of us knew that it would fall on such an important day in England's bid to win the World Cup.

But as many of you wonderful blog readers and afternoon tea attenders will know we usually have a spectacular team of highly trained, super talented, Chefs, Entertainers & Photographers namely; Paul Rowley, Howard Wing & Jonny Draper amongst our number, amazingly for a Wednesday afternoon they all had last minute wedding bookings to attend to, I was assured on all three counts that it had nothing what so ever to do with the football!

But every fairy story has to have it's "Villains" (Aformentioned) and its "Heroes" now my wonderful and completely brilliant heroes of the day were Jason & Ben, these two are always totally reliable, they have never ever let me down and moreover they always exceed my expectations, and they were both prepared to miss the England match for the greater good of Arnold School Ladies Luncheon, and for that I am immensley grateful! However I'm not completely convinced by their efforts at singing! I'd also like to mention how wonderful it was of Chris Astbury from the Astbury Studio in Poulton to send a representative!

One of my all time favourite ladies Tricia Allen The event was a total sell out and as you can see the tables were dressed with Red & White football shaped posies and the most incredible "Barber Shop" Style "a la Ben" napkins in support of our English Football Team

So many gorgeous ladies, so much Champagne and a plethora of fabulous fresh flowers

The gorgeous Joan StottSpectacular Heliconias and luscious English Garden Flowers

So my very first design, a delicious confection in lemon and ivory of Hydrangeas, English Garden Roses, Dill, Phlox, Astilbe, Honesty, Hosta, Peonies and Aconitum.

And just how gorgeous are these lovely lemon Peonies

The menu looked fabulous

Red Heliconia

The savouries were delicious

Then onto an Orchid fountain

I'd used Phalaenopsis, Dendrobium and Vanda Orchids

Then Aqua Roses and Antirhinnums in a Martini Vase Alliums & Venus Fly Traps

The delicious cakes and pastries were served by the equally lovely Jonny

The finale completed to coincide with England's Goal!

This is my brand new friend Kitty Astbury the very glamarous mum of photographer Chris Astbury

This lovely lady won the moss football boots and floral football

The flowers were all raffled complete with their containers with all proceeds being split between Trinity Hospice and Elizabeth Gomm's "Happy House" Charity.
